Ireland – Construction work – Refurbishment of Steel Beams in Former Fire Station Tower Curragh Camp
Description
The Water Tower is an existing five-storey building in the Curragh Camp which houses the Curragh Fire crew vehicles, some training areas as well as the water supply to the Curragh in two (2) large water tanks on the 5th floor. It is a predominantly red brick tower, approx. 30m high, with a mixture of concrete and wooden floors supported on steel beams that now require refurbishment in order to maintain their structural integrity. As the building is a listed building, the minimum amount of new material, as is necessary will be used to refurbish these beams.
