Ireland – Software package and information systems – Extension of Electronic Medical Records Solution for SAOLTA Lot 3 - Combined Document Scanning and Electronic Medical Record IT System

The HSE intends to award an extension of an existing contract for a Combined Document Scanning and Electronic Medical Record IT System with Kainos Evolve Ltd for a period of 3 years. The current contract was awarded as a result of a mini competition, HSE Ref. 3641, conducted under Lot 3 of the Framework Agreement for Electronic Medical Records (EMR) & Associated Scanning Service, HSE 2553, for a Combined Document Scanning and Electronic Medical Record IT System for Saolta and the associated region: HSE West and North West. The contract was awarded to Kainos Evolve Ltd in 2018 for a total of 5 years, which expired in December 2023. The contract was extended until December 2024, and HSE now intends to extend this contract for a further 3 years until December 2027. The Kainos Evolve solution provided both document scanning, clinician system integration and eFroms for capturing clinical documentation at the point of care. The Evolve solution is deeply embedded in the clinical workflows of Galway University Hospital (GUH) and HSE West and North West. It is being used to ensure continuity of care in multi-site care pathways, including integrated chronic disease teams and specialist services in GUH from other hospitals.
