Ireland – Computer network services – Network Switch Equipment and Ongoing Support Services

The IBTS is seeking the services of qualified companies to provide a managed service for the replacement of Core Network Switches and ongoing Wide and Local Area Networking support, including WiFi support. Related network upgrades and equipment replacements over the duration of the contract may also be included. It is envisaged that most services will be provided remotely, but suppliers must be able to attend on-site in the NBC within four (4) hours if required in the event of a serious incident that cannot be resolved remotely. The majority of IT Infrastructure is hosted on-premise in the NBC, but some of this infrastructure is expected to migrate to the Cloud over the lifetime of this contract. There are also Domain Controllers in the MRTC and a Disaster Recovery Site hosted by a third party. Servers include Windows Servers (various versions), as well as some Linux (mainly RedHat), and AIX servers. Client machines are Windows, currently being upgraded to Windows 10. The IBTS is part of Government Networks. Each site has dual link connectivity to the Government Networks on an IBTS private VLAN. All locations have local fixed and wireless networks.
