Ireland – Optical-fibre cables for data transmission – 9245 Lease of IE Fibre

CIE/IÉ own and manage a Nationally Deployed Fibre Optic Single Mode Cable Network consisting of over 2,000km of linear routes to support IÉ Operational and Customer Services and 3rd Party Customers. We continually upgrade and renew our existing cable infrastructure across our network and have identified spare dark fibre capacity within our fibre optic cable network. Our intention is to offer to the market the lease of a pair of dark fibres at nominated locations nationally and/or regional point-to-point links for commercial purposes for a 15-year duration with the option to extend for a further 5 years upon agreement. The availability of point-to-point links is dependent on capacity with the IÉ Cable network between requested locations and can be negotiated. There exists a national installation base of boundary fibre cabinets that are accessible to possible customers that are owned and managed by IÉ
