Ireland – Laboratory services – Supply and Distribution of Hologic Liquid Based Cytology ThinPrep Slides and Consumables

This is a VEAT notice to indicate that the HSE intends utilize EU public procurement directive Art 32.2(b) (iii) negotiated procedure without prior publication in the following case. (B) Where works, supplies or services can be supplied only by a particular economic operator for any of the following reasons: (iii) competition is absent for technical reasons. CervicalCheck uses HPV DNA testing as the primary test method, with triage of HPV detected samples using liquid based cytology (LBC) tests. Hologic Liquid Based Cytology ThinPrep (LBC ThinPrep) is the chosen method by CervicalCheck for the collection of samples for HPV testing. The requirement of this contract is the supply of LBC Thinprep kits to the various smear collection locations spread across Ireland. It includes the packaging of sample kits for distribution by the supplier to all selected GP locations and any other sample collection location, and the facilitation of return of samples from these locations to the test centres (laboratory) for screening. Screenlink Healthcare Ltd are the sole licensed agent/distributor in Ireland for the manufacturer of ThinPrep. This notice is to indicate that the HSE intends to contract with Screenlink Healthcare Ltd as they are they the sole licensed agent/distributor in Ireland for the manufacturer of ThinPrep.
